Counselling fees are based on guidelines recommended by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. We offer a sliding scale fee that can be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Appointments are usually scheduled once a week, or biweekly, according to client need, preference and resources.
Payment is accepted by cash or cheque at the end of each session. A receipt will be provided following payment, and may be submitted for reimbursement to an insurance carrier, if applicable.
Individual Session (50 minutes) – $110.00
Couple/Family Session (50 minutes) – $120.00
Missed appointments which are not cancelled by telephone at least 48 hours prior, will be billed in full. If an appointment needs to be cancelled or rescheduled, please provide as much notice as possible, directly to the therapist you are working with.
The BC Medical Services Plan (MSP) does not cover the services of a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Some (but not all) extended health plans cover fees. Ask your insurance benefits plan representative if they cover the fees of a Registered Clinical Counsellor and if so, for how much per session and per year. Your therapist is happy to create a counseling service plan in line with your coverage. When coverage is provided, typically, you submit counselling receipts to your employer for reimbursement. If not, you may wish to claim your counselling receipts as an income tax deduction, under “Medical Expenses”.
